Rooted in Love, Growing in Faith

Our Roots

Where Love Gathers and Memories Take Root

The Barn at Taylor Farms is a working family farm turned timeless event venue, where simple elegance, open land, and honest hospitality come together. Rooted in tradition and built for meaningful gatherings, the venue offers a warm, authentic setting for celebrations of all kinds—weddings, family milestones, and moments worth slowing down for.

This is a place designed for people who want their event to feel personal, not packaged, held on land with history and cared for by a family that believes how something is done matters just as much as how it looks.

The Taylor Family Farm — A Legacy From Plow to Pavilion

Our Story

Taylor Family Farm began in 1933 when M.J. Taylor started farming 297 acres in Cook County with a simple belief: work honestly and care for the land as you would family. From raising cattle to growing feed, the foundation was built on stewardship, resilience, and purpose.

Through the decades, the farm evolved with agriculture itself, producing everything from vegetables and row crops to hay and cattle. M.J.’s son, Bruce Taylor, expanded the operation and strengthened its sustainable practices, always committed to leaving the land better than he found it.

The third generation, Phillip Taylor, carried that responsibility forward—balancing modern agriculture with time-honored tradition, guided by faith, pride in the land, and commitment to the community. Alongside him, Pam Taylor played an essential role behind the scenes, keeping the farm moving through every season.

Today, fourth-generation farmer Austin Taylor continues the hands-on work that has defined the Taylors for nearly a century. What began as 297 acres has grown into a 1,850-acre working farm, now focused primarily on a beef cattle operation with approximately 750 head of cattle.

The Barn at Taylor Farms is a natural extension of that legacy—a place where weddings, gatherings, and milestones are celebrated on land shaped by generations of hard work and care. From plow to pavilion, the purpose remains the same: honor the land, honor the people, and carry the legacy forward.
